Accomplished Canadian and global retailer Kevin Macnab to assume leadership effective October 10

St. Jacobs, ON, September 11, 2018 – Home Hardware Stores Limited (“Home Hardware” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Macnab as President and CEO, effective October 10, 2018.

Mr. Macnab is a seasoned omnichannel retailer and proven leader with more than 30 years of retail industry experience, including key roles at Toys “R” Us, Marks & Spencer and D'Allaird's Stores. He is a past Chair of the Retail Council of Canada.

Prior to joining Home Hardware, Mr. Macnab held a number of senior roles with Toys “R” Us, including Vice President Finance, Real Estate and IT, and then President at Toys “R” Us Canada, and finally as President of International at Toys "R" Us. In this most recent position he was tasked with integrating and connecting the various businesses in Europe, Asia and Canada to drive growth. He was promoted into this global role after successfully leading the company's business in Canada for ten years. During that time, Mr. Macnab delivered strong growth, positioning the company as a category leader.

Before joining Toys “R” Us, Mr. Macnab spent 12 years with Marks & Spencer, including six years in the United Kingdom and six years in senior management roles in Canada. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds a bachelor’s degree in business (with honours) from De Montfort University in Leicester, U.K.
