There are beautiful colours all around us, in the flowers in our garden, within the details of the artwork on our walls or the upholstery on our furniture, even in our favourite sweater. Utilizing this new, hand-held technology, Beauti-Tone paint experts in Home Hardware stores across Canada can assist homeowners identify the exact colour they are looking for and match to a Beauti-Tone shade, even if customers can't bring the colour into the store.
Currently consumers are using chip-rack displays and spectrophotometers to try to find the colour they want for their home. The difficulty with these methods is that they are not portable and can't be used outside of the store. "If you love the colour of the walls in your friend's new home and don't have any idea what the colour is, or you want to complement your wall paint to a colour within the upholstery of your sofa, it is pretty difficult to bring a sample into a paint store for evaluation," says Bell. "Or if there is a tiny bit of the perfect colour in a piece of artwork on your wall, it is difficult to isolate that colour to match it with the perfect paint colour." Beauti-Tone's new tool is portable, accurate, and can identify multiple colours within one sample.
Beauti-Tone's new hand-held colour-matching device is a small, portable ‘vision based' colour finder that provides "what you see is what you get" colour matching. Stored within each unit are all of Beauti-Tone's 4,300 colour choices so that the colour is matched to a specific paint colour. The user is able to see the paint chip of the matched colour right on the unit's full colour screen. In addition, the unit will provide complementary colour, split complement colours and colour triad recommendations and match those to an exact Beauti-Tone paint.
