Mission, BC, August 11, 2009 - On Friday August 7th, Gail Davis found out on live television that she is this year's grand prize winner of the Home Hardware $50,000 Ultimate Backyard Makeover Contest. With entries made all across Canada, Gail's ballot was drawn out of more than 90,000 ballots to win the grand prize.
Gail's backyard will receive a $50,000 overhaul thanks to the Contest with portions of the Grand Prize set aside for a major project, such as a new deck, shed or interlocking brick; labour and installation; and other backyard items such as a barbecue, patio set and planters.
"This is a great way for us to say thank you to our customers," said Rick Kyba, who owns and operates Mission Home Hardware. "From one Home Owner to another, this amazing prize can purchase a range of backyard improvement items to help with everything from decorating to renovating. Congratulations Gail!"
To enter Home Hardware's Ultimate Backyard Makeover Contest, customers across Canada were encouraged to submit a ballot by mail, in-store or online between April 8th and June 17th. One entrant was randomly selected as the Grand Prize Winner.
