1. Trace the placeholder pattern on bristol board. Cut it out using a hobby knife, a metal edge ruler and a cutting mat. Next, trace the bristol board cut-out on the brown craft paper and cut it out the same as the bristol board.
   
2. Dampen the brown craft paper with water and crunch it up. Un-crunch it and lay it flat to dry. This gives an interesting texture to the paper. Dry-mount paper to the bristol board with the rubber cement. (To dry-mount, place rubber cement on both the brown craft paper and the bristol board separately, let dry, and then press them together. This allows for a permanent bond.)
3. Score the bottom edges on the outside with the hobby knife to allow for a clean fold.
   
4. Use a dry brush technique to stencil an initial on one side with black paint, or, if desired, handwrite the initial.
5. Paper punch a hole on the top of each side.
6. Place a small amount of sphagnum moss on the bottom and nest the bulb on top.
7. Fold the sides up and tie together with ribbon or raffia.
