Party LightsCandles hanging in the boughs of trees, swaying to the rhythm of summer night breezes add the sense or whisper of magic to festivities. But the project itself is very simple.

What You'll Need
  • spire finial 2611-490
  • wood post cap 2611-365
  • chain 5231-359
  • mason jars 4448-501
  • clear silicone glue 2031-223
  • stain 1N3-3 New Prince (colour used in the project, but it could be stained or painted)

Step By Step

  1. Attach the finial to the cap. Paint or stain as desired.
  2. Suspend the chain from the cap in four equal spaced places and secure with screws.
  3. Join chain together at one point, high enough to clear the jar. Suspend one long chain from this point to tree limb. Attach securely, ensuring that there is adequate clearance from tree.
  4. Attach jar to cap with silicone glue.
  5. Place sand or stones in jar and position a citronella votive candle inside.

Note
: Make sure the candle is deep in the jar so the flame doesn't blow out. Hang individually or in groupings at different levels for interest.
