This sawhorse is rugged and versatile, strong and collapsible. It is weather resistant and can be easily stored indoors or outdoors. It comes in handy for supporting logs and branches that need to be cut or tied. The inner legs support short pieces of brush or logs. You can also place a sheet of wood on top for a temporary potting or work table.
Step By Step
- Referring to the diagram, cut all the pieces to size. The legs are constructed from 2" x 4" pressure treated lumber, and the leg supports from 1" x 6" pressure treated stock.
- Drill 3/8" holes in the leg pieces for the two sets of outer legs at the locations indicated, and secure each pair with a 3 1/2" carriage bolt, washers and nut. This allows the sawhorse to fold or collapse for storage.
- Pre-drill all screw locations for the leg supports with a #8 screwsetter bit, and secure them to the outer legs with 1 1/2" deck screws.
- Install the inner pair of legs using 1 1/2" deck screws.
- Install the chain to the lower leg support pieces as shown. The chain will secure the legs in the "open" position.
