Driveway Sealer
- Is a premium grade coal tar emulsion pavement sealer for those discriminating jobs that demand outstanding performance and appearance year after year
- The hot blending of catalyzed rubber and select polymers with the refined coal tar in Weathershied driveway sealer greatly enhances its toughness, flexibility at all temperatures and resistance to gasoline, oil and de-icing salts
- The water repellencey of cured Weathershield driveway sealer coating systems is the result of a very special blend of surface active agents which change the surface chemistry of the clays, making them water repellent
- Outstanding features of this product are its longevity and flexibility of the fully cured film with its unmatched toughness
- Weathersheild retains uniform dark charcoal colour of the finished jobs, even under not-so- friendly weather conditions
- It has the ability to bridge over minor surface (non-working) cracks in the pavement
- Has resistance to re-emulsification in the presence of de-icing salts, resistance to gas, oil and ultraviolet degradation from the sun's rays PREPARATION:
- Surface must be cleaned
- Remove all dust, dirt, oil and grease by scrubbing with an all-purpose cleaner
- Flush with a hose, using a strong stream of water
- Take care to remove all dirt from cracks and depressions
- Surface may be damp, but not wet, prior to application APPLICATION:
- Thoroughly stir contents of this and apply directly from the pail
- Pour 1/4-1/2" thick ribbon across driveway and pull squeegee using light pressure
- Once this has cured, (about 48 hours) a top-coat of a standard asphalt emulsion, acrylic or coal tar sealer may be applied
- Although a roller may be used to apply this product a squeegee is the better tool
- For low to moderate traffic, residential, 2 coats of Weathershield regular sealer applied at 45 degree angles
