Your cattle don’t require the same degree of shelter as young or newborn calves, but they can still experience cold stress in wet conditions. It’s also important during calving to have a place where the mother and newborn can get out of the elements for a few days. Home Hardware’s Cattle Shelter provides your valuable livestock with a safe haven from freezing temperatures and howling winds, and a shady retreat during hot summer days. Cost-effective and easy to construct, it’s an especially great benefit on properties that lack brush or other natural windbreaks. The spacious 192-square foot interior allows room enough to comfortably house several full-size cows. Sturdy 2’ x 4’ studs and 2’ x 6’ rafters provide solid framing, and pressure-treated base skids help prevent rot and decay. The skids also allow for easy movement of the shelter if required. Galvanized metal cladding on the walls and roof provides long-lasting durability. The roof design also features a backward slope to allow snow, ice and rain to run off safely away from your animals.
