Simply drill out where indicated on the outside of the bottom of the planter to activate the overflow protection feature and you can now stop worrying about overwatering or by flooding by heavy rains. The large inside water reservoir not only allows you to use less water. It allows the plant to take in water when ever needed while allowing you to leave the planter unattended for days and worry about it drying out and dying. Great for cottages as well as backyards and decks.
