It's specifically designed to join no-hub cast iron soil pip and fittings made in accordance with CISPI STD 310. the chemical characteristics of the neoprene help prevent the gasket from decaying or deteriorating from contact with effluents in pipe or chemicals in soil or air around the pipe.
