A power direct vent water heater is ideal when inside air can't be used for combustion and a longer vent run is required, possibly as a result of the heater being in a smaller room that does not have a wall facing outdoors. The air is drawn from outside using a vent pipe and a rotatable motorized blower forces the exhaust outside. This GSW water heater is very energy efficient and is suitable for closet installations. This 50 USG/189 L water heater features: a sealed combustion chamber design which prevents accidental ignition of flammable vapours; compact design, great for tight space installations; factory installed heat trap nipples, which reduces the amount of heat lost through piping improving energy efficiency; an exclusive TankSaver design that prolongs tank life; flexible venting options - can be vented with 3" or 4" ULC S636 PVC, CPVC, or polypropylene pipe up to 180 equivalent feet, and a conveniently located temperature and pressure relief valve, drain valve, junction box and anode, which allows for stress-free maintenance.
