Here’s How to Host a Holiday Party
Hosting a holiday party is one of the great Christmas traditions. It’s a chance to get together with family, see old friends, and even make new ones. Food will always be the focal point, but you also want to make sure your home is ready to receive guests. That means cleaning, organizing, and sprucing up your holiday décor. Here’s What You Need:
Here’s How to Do it:
Holiday calendars fill up fast, so I wanted to let my invitees know about my party as early as possible. For this reason, I skipped print invites entirely to avoid snail mail delays and went straight to digital. I sent out e-invites, set up a holiday party Facebook group, and followed up with texts a few days later. I made sure to include the date, time, and address, along with a few special instructions on what snacks and drinks to bring. I also asked my guests to note any dietary restrictions in their RSVPs. Aside from food items, I found everything I needed at my local Home Hardware.
Step 1: Getting the House Ready
I deep cleaned my home the weekend before the party, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and steam cleaning upholstery. Then I did a refresh a full day in advance, cleaning the bathroom and restocking essentials like hand soap, toilet paper and tissues. Once everything was ship-shape, I gathered together additional seating options, and earmarked a spot for storing coats and footwear. Finally, on the morning of the party, I shoveled the steps and driveway and laid down some salt just in case the weather turned foul.

And with that, I let the party begin! I hope this inspires you to celebrate this holiday season with your friends and family too. Have a wonderful Christmas, everyone!
