Beat Winter Blahs

We are so proud to be Canadian, but with that comes long, harsh winters that often leave us envisioning ourselves on a warm tropical island.

It’s around this time that I begin tackling a new design project indoors to keep my mind off the hidden sun and to warm up the inside of my home! Historically it has been too cold outside to paint indoors and leave the windows open, but with the new Natura paint line at Home Hardware you don’t have to worry!

Home Hardware believes in products that are both environmentally sustainable and effective, and it shows in our paint. Natura is a VOC free, 100% acrylic interior paint that offers superior scrubability and durability. This also means that you can paint indoors without worrying about harmful fumes. It’s both scuff and stain resistant, with a tack free finish. The Pearl finish also includes a natural mildicide formulated to combat mold and mildew, making it ideal for bathrooms.

Natura Safe Prep (Replaces: TSP): Unlike its alternative, Natura Safe Prep is a unique, environmentally safe product that requires no gloves and no rinsing. Time saving tip: use an abrasive sponge with Natura Safe Prep so you can clean and dull in one simple step.

Natura Safe Solution (Replaces: Varsol, Mineral Spirits, Turpentine): Alternatives to Natura Safe Solution contain VOCs that release paint into the water supply when cleaning paintbrushes. Soy-based Natura Safe Solution provides a green and clean alternative for cleaning paintbrushes. And it’s so gentle that you can use it to clean your makeup brushes, too!​

Natura Safe Strip: Unlike other paint strippers – which usually contain methylene chloride or sodium hydroxide – Natura Safe Strip is non-corrosive and safe for the environment. It effectively removes water-based, oil-based, solid or semi-translucent stains and paint from interior wood, masonry and metal surfaces. Plus its low odour gel formula clings to vertical surfaces.​
