Family Day is a day set aside to kick back, relax, and spend time with – you guessed it – family. It’s a welcome change of pace in the middle of February since the last statutory holiday was New Years and the next will be Good Friday. Break out of your winter rut & make some memories with your family!

Board Games

If the roads are slick or the temperature is bone-chilling, sitting by the fireplace with a hot beverage and a good board game can be the perfect plan. Classics like Monopoly, the Game of Life, or Clue are fun to play if you have a few hours to spare. Sequence and Scrabble are strategy games to keep your mind sharp. Trivia games like Trivial Pursuit  are fun to compete individually or in teams. If you are playing board games with young children, Sorry!, Mouse Trap, Trouble, Chutes and Ladders, or Pie Face  are bound to keep them entertained.  ​
DIT - Do it Together!

DIY Projects

For busy bees, DIY projects are great to keep your family occupied. You could accent your home by making placements or door mats to welcome guests and add something extra to your décor. Artistic families will enjoy creating customized art for their walls or making creative drink coasters. Consider Building a game such as a tic-tac-toe board or a jigsaw puzzle and then testing them by challenging a family member to play.

Snow sports are the perfect way to help you enjoy winter instead of dreading it! Whether you opt for classics like tobogganing, snowball fights and building snowmen, or use your athletic side for ice skating, tubing, snowshoeing, or hockey, your family is sure to have a great time. Bonus: everyone will be thoroughly exhausted & sleep well that night!
