Fireplace Facelift

Is the brick on your fireplace outdated and in need of a makeover?

by Willie Wainwright

Is the brick on your fireplace outdated and in need of a makeover? Willie Wainwright, a painter from Peachland, British Columbia, shows you how to go from drab-to-fab using Beauti-Tone paint.

Shopping List
  • natural sea sponge
  • Beauti-Tone Designer Series eggshell paint

Here's How
:
1. Before you begin to paint,
thoroughly vacuum the fireplace to
make sure it is nice and clean.

2. Apply one solid colour of Beauti-
Tone Designer Series eggshell paint
for the first coat.

3. Put the second paint colour on a sea
sponge, and dab it and drag it onto the
bricks. Skipping over a brick here and
there creates a realistic, rustic look, and
is more effective than applying the sponge
effect to every single brick.
