Fun in the Sun

Summer is a time to get outside and stay active. The easiest place to do that is right in your own backyard. Lawn games like croquet, bocce and bola ball are fun for the whole family. You can also break into teams for a round of ring toss, bean bag toss or washer bag toss. There’s even a kid-safe version of lawn darts available. Flying discs, soccer and basketball are a perennial summer favourites, but if you’re heading over to the park remember to bring a cooler bag with cold drinks. There’s plenty of outdoor kids’ toys to keep the little ones active too. Skipping ropes, bubble wands and ride-on toys all fit the bill.

If you have a pool, it’s sure to get lots of use through the summer. Make sure you’re stocked up on chlorine tabs, pool salt, pool sand and any other pool supplies you need for pool safety. You’ll also want to have a variety of pool toys on hand. That includes swim goggles, water blasters and inflatable pool toys. Summer fun tip: an inflating pump will save you time and energy when blowing up dingies and other inflatables.
