What You'll Need:Sailboat
  • 1" x 12" boards of rough-cut spruce
  • Beauti-Tone Wood Shield solid stain 1866-850
  • coarse/medium sanding sponge 1061-415
  • No More Nails 1654-398
  • rope 5462-830
  • dock cleat 6633-333
  • eye screws 2362-730
  • sanding block 1061-175


Here's How:

  1. Cut sailboat pattern from wood.
  2. Stain each piece the appropriate colour: background: The Sky's the Limit boat and flag: Redwood sail: Fuzzy Mitten
  3. Download TemplateLet dry. Sand back edges with coarse sandpaper to achieve a soft, time worn effect.
  4. Attach the two backboards together with 3 strips of wood bridging them together.
  5. Assemble and glue sailboat pieces to backboard.
  6. Attach eye screws to back. Insert rope, and knot to hold in place.
  7. Hang from cleat that has been securely attached to the wall.
