Here’s How to Rethink Colour in Your Home

The colours we choose for our homes say a lot about who we are. Whether you have all white walls and modern décor, or bold walls with statement pieces, the colours you surround yourself with have the ability to transform how you feel. 

White walls and all white kitchens have certainly been trending over the past few years and this has made many of my clients colour-cautious or confused about how to reintroduce colour back into their homes.

Create an accent wall

First, embrace and explore how certain colours make you feel. Pick a hue that inspires an emotion within you. Does a certain colour make you feel happy and joyful? If so, choose it and test it out by creating an accent wall in your home. 

For years, the wall behind my fireplace has been black but I’ve been looking to freshen things up by adding a sense of calm and tranquility to the space where we spend a lot of time winding down after a busy day. One of my favourite BeautiTone colours is Baby Vegetable (C43-1-0753-3.) You can see how this beautiful, earthy green brings a new vibe to the room and creates an interesting focal point!

Give your doors a facelift

Another simple way to introduce colour into your home is by painting one or multiple doors a bold colour. This creates drama in an entry way and can produce a stunning first impression. It’s also the last colour you see on your way out of the house!

Green with Envy

Green makes me feel calm and in control, not to mention festive for the upcoming holiday season. I chose a few shades of green from BeautiTone and transformed some of my existing décor into a beautiful holiday vignette.

I love the colour pink and the way it makes me feel. That’s why I was excited to have fun with BeautiTone by infusing Warm Hugs (D43-0-1598-3) and a few warmer shades into my everyday décor.

By changing the colour of these items, I was able to create a whole new style and vibe in a room where I was traditionally using all whites and neutrals! I converted my old décor into pieces that I’m excited to decorate with again. Just a little paint goes a long way in transforming a space!
