2. DIY Sprinklers

With this summer’s heat, DIY sprinklers are at the top of our bucket list. Here is a creative way to make your own sprinkler so your kids can stay cool all summer. Find a pool noodle, duct tape, scissors and a garden hose. Poke holes in a row, 2-3 inches apart. Tape one side of the noodle with duct tape so water can’t exit. Then, place your hose inside the other end of the noodle and secure with duct tape. Once completed, your kids will love splashing through it all summer long.

Still reminiscing about your childhood summers? It’s time to bring back the old sandbox. 4. DIY Garden Box

A DIY garden box isn’t just trendy, it’s also great for teaching your kids how to grow their very own produce! To get started, head to your local Home Building Centre for wood, screws and vegetable soil. Build a basic wooden box structure and drill holes in the bottom for water to escape. Kids love playing in the dirt, so let them help you fill the garden box with soil and seeds. After that, all that’s left to do is watch your vegetables as they grow!
