2019 Toyota Tundra: For Work and Play

2019 Tundra: For Work and Play

Work or play, it’s all the same

Your 2019 Toyota Tundra pickup truck is incredibly versatile: it plays the role of tough workhorse by day, and moonlights as your home-away-from-home road tripper, and comfortable daily commuter.

Tundra is the perfect partner for both indoor enjoyment and outdoor play. It’s rugged build and tough capabilities ensure it can handle everything from hauling work-related equipment, to tugging along your ATVs, side-by-side, or watercraft on a very different kind of adventure.

Dive into your next adventure

A choice of eight models will provide pickup truck enthusiasts, contractors, and families with an option that best suits their needs. The 2019 Tundra is available in 4x2 with the SR trim; 4x4 Double Cab with the SR, SR5, and Limited trims; and 4x4 CrewMax cab sizes with SR5, Limited, and Platinum as a choice.

Powertrain options come in the form of a 4.6-litre V-8 engine boasting 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque., and a larger and more powerful 5.7-litre V-8 generating 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque.

For outdoor adventures and family vacations, drivers of the 2019 Tundra can choose between three bed lengths: the 5.5-foot Short Bed, 6.5-ft standard bed, and the 8.1-ft Long Bed.

Owners can also benefit from an easy lower and lift tailgate when loading and unloading their truck. A power tailgate lock is available, depending on the selected model.

For models with 5.7L engine, Tundra offers a maximum towing capacity of 8,800-10,000 lb. This is a great option for adventure seekers and families looking to haul their ATV or boat to the cottage or explore the great outdoors.

Family-friendly interior

With the 2019 Tundra, it’s not always about working hard and playing hard. Toyota has also tuned the truck to meet the needs of a family drive to the movies or a romantic evening out thanks to interior features that add comfort and convenience to everyday life on the road.

For modern convenience, standard features also include USB audio input, and 12V DC Accessory Connectors can be found both in the front row and the rear.

Safety as a priority

Safety remains a key priority for Toyota — something that is reflected in every model thanks to its standard Toyota Safety Sense™ (TSS-P) features. The bundle includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (to maintain a preset following distance), and Automatic High Beams (meant to improve nighttime visibility).

Toyota’s Star Safety System is also included on all Tundra models, and features Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology (helping to assist the driver when braking in the event they may unintentionally accelerate.)

A backup camera is included, and both clearance and backup sensors and a navigation system are available to help drivers steer clear of potential objects, and remain on course to reach their destination quickly and efficiently.
Work or play, it’s all the same to the 2019 Toyota Tundra. It’s built with a tough attitude and smart sense to ensure it meets the various needs of work and family priorities.

The Tundra earned the top spot in the full-size truck segment in the Best Retained Value Awards for 2019. It’s also backed by Toyota’s legendary quality, durability and reliability, which may explain why more than 88 per cent of Toyota pickups sold in Canada in the last 20 years are still on the road today.*
