Description
- For use in masonry chimneys only
- Ensure the masonry chimney and masonry fireplace are in good condition and in accordance with provincial and territorial regulations or bylaws, or in the absence thereof, with the National Building Code of Canada
- If used for pellet stove applications, do not use the tee with cap included in this kit as it is not an insulated pellet vent or a pressurized exhaust system
- Ensure the appliance manufacturer permits connection to a stainless steel flexible liner and that all local codes are followed
- For this type of installation the pellet stove manufacturer recommends to increase the pellet pipe from a 3" diameter to a 4" diameter to meet specific EVL requirements
- This can be accomplished by adding an increaser (HH #5533-024) to the pipe adapter (HH #5533-015) at the back of the stove
- Attach the required pellet pipe length (see section 5533) followed by the pellet vent tee and cap (HH #5532-830)
- Add another length of pipe determined by your distance, and then install the pellet pipe to flex connector (HH #5533-012) and make sure this connector is inside of the masonry chimney or inside of the masonry fireplace
- A tight seal must be created between the (HH #5533-012) connector and the stainless steel flexible liner using high temperature silicone sealant like (HH #2031-376)
- The stainless steel flexible liner is installed inside of a masonry chimney only
- Refer to your pellet stove installation instructions for more installation details and drawings
- Install the complete flex kit where a tee is required for connection between versa-liner stainless steel flex in a vertical position and the appropriate connector pipe in the horizontal position
- Use of a tee is required by installation code B139 for re-lining masonry chimneys in oil applications
- Includes flex liner, rain cap, flashing, flashing adapter, flex connector, tee w/ cap
