Get a Smooth Finish on All Your Projects with a Powerful Hand Sander.

Sanding is one of the essential steps to any woodworking project, be it building a piece of furniture or a brand new backyard deck. Hand-sanding, while sometimes necessary, takes a lot of time and effort. A hand sander gets the job done faster and delivers consistent results every time. Different types of electric sanders are used for different tasks, and also require different types of sandpaper. A sheet sander (also known as a palm sander) is versatile and easy to operate: you simply move it back and forth similar to hand-sanding. It takes the same standard size of sheets and can be used on paint, plastic, and metals as well. Random orbital sanders work similarly to sheet sanders but they use round sandpaper discs instead of sheets. The disc spins at a very high speed, and also oscillates to prevent swirls or gouges in the wood. An orbital sander fitted with fine grit sandpaper is ideal for applying a final, smooth finish to your wood. Detail sanders feature a pointed nose to access tight areas and sand around uneven shapes and inlays. They require specially shaped detail sander pads that oscillate more slowly to avoid taking off too much material.

belt sander is quite unique compared to other types of sanders. Designed to remove a lot of material quickly from large areas, a belt sander is ideal for beginning your sanding process with a rough grit belt sandpaper. It can also be used as a drywall sander, a floor sander, and for grinding away irregular shapes on cabinets or countertops.
