Trim Your Doors & Windows with Beautiful Decorative Casing

Door casing and window casing are types of moulding used to frame doors and windows. Also known as door trim and window trim, it serves to cover up any gaps and spaces between the drywall and frame. Casing is usually quite wide and therefore visible, so you’ll want to choose a style that complements your interior décor. Most interior designers recommend using a consistent style for all the trimmed windows and door trim moulding in your home. Wood moulding and MDF trim are available primed and ready to paint. You can also find unprimed wood trim that can be stained to match your room décor. If you leave windows open in the summer, then water-resistant PVC casing might be a good option.

Casement moulding comes in a wide variety of designs and profiles. Bevel casing offers a sleek, streamlined look that adds a modern touch to any space. Fluted casing features art deco style grooves or ‘flutes’ that run the length of the moulding. Victorian moulding has a classic appeal with lots of ornate curves, bumps, and lines. These accents diminish in colonial casing where the raised edges and mitered corners make for a simpler but still elegant appearance.
