Here's How
  • Cut 2 x 6 into 4' lengths.
  • Set the boards along the gunnel of the canoe and scribe the taper onto the boards.
  • Canoe TableCut along the line with a jigsaw and sand smooth. (Note: If the centre seat interferes with the boards fitting below the gunnel, cut and adjust the boards to fit).
  • Space the two 2 x 6 boards so they will fit inside the gunnels with a 1/2" clearance.
  • Starting in the centre of the space, fasten the 1 x 6 fence boards with screws.
  • Cut off the excess of the 2 x 6 boards.
  • Turn the table over and mark the gunnel profile 2" beyond the 2 x 6 boards. Cut off with jigsaw.
