Here’s How to Complete a Dream Garage Makeover

When we bought our new house, we knew we needed to have a functional workspace as soon as possible. Luckily the house came with a great garage space that we could turn into our dream workshop. The issue with the space was it was dusty, dirty, had poor lighting, minimal storage, and old plywood doors didn’t function as we needed them to.

We were lucky to team up with Home Hardware to create our dream garage! With Home Hardware’s help we could turn this old, rundown space into our ultimate dream workspace!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• (2) 48” Storage Cabinets

• (1) 36” Storage Cabinet (2) Base Storage Cabinets with Drawer

• (2) Base Storage Cabinets

• (2) 66.5” Hardwood Workbench

• BeautiTone Pro 300 Interior Latex Primer Sealer

• BeautiTone Signature Interior Latex Paint – Essential White

• Drylok Concrete Floor Latex Paint

• Shiplap Moulding

Here’s How we did it:

Step 1: Install New Doors

We started by removing the old plywood doors and installing new patio doors we found second hand. These doors worked great for the space, allowing lots of natural light in, as well as providing an amazing view of the ocean behind our home!

Step 2: Prep the Space and Paint

We added drywall around the newly installed doors and unfinished areas of the shop. We then touched up all the big holes and scratches on the existing drywall. This got us ready for primer and paint. We used BeautiTone Pro 300 Interior Latex Primer and BeautiTone Signature Interior Latex Paint. The paint covered all the repairs like they never happened and really freshened up the space!

We also added a coat of paint to the floor. We gave it a deep clean and painted it with concrete floor paint. This cleaned up the space and gave it a whole new look!

Step 5: Organize!

And of course, you can’t finish a workshop space without getting some new tools! We added the list below to fill the cabinets and get ready for our next projects:
