Here’s How Hewer Home Hardware serves West Point Grey. In 1978. two brothers (Bernard’s father and his uncle) purchased Hewer Hardware from the Mr. Jafir another immigrant from Africa.  They turned around the ailing hardware store in a few short years by keeping the store well stocked and meeting the needs of their customers. After joining the Home Hardware family in the 1990’s, many systems and services were implemented to improve the operation further. Current owner Bernard, expanded in 2010 with the addition of the garden centre and most recently in 2024 with the addition of the housewares section. We are thankful to our loyal clientele who continue to support the store founded originally by Mr. Gordon Hewer in the 1920’s.
