Home Hardware is committed to ensuring the products we sell meet and exceed customer expectations. In a continued effort to serve our customers with dependable products and services, Home Hardware has issued a voluntary recall notice on Home Brand Utility Butane Lighters (6311-056). These lighters are refillable and the flame is adjustable.

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that these lighters do not meet the Lighters Regulations in Canada and may pose a fire or burn hazard.
Specifically, the lighters:
• may exceed the allowable flame height during ignition;
• may exhibit an abnormal, sudden increase in flame height; and
• may continue to burn after the trigger mechanism has been released.

As of June 20, 2018, Home Hardware Stores Limited has received no reports of incidents or injuries but encourage customers to cease using the product immediately and dispose of their lighters according to their local municipal waste requirements or return these lighters to their local Home Hardware location for a full refund.
