Summer’s Here! Get Out and Get Active with the Right Outdoor Gear.

When summer finally arrives, you want to unplug from indoor life and head outside for some fresh air and sun. No need to go any further than your own backyard. Gardening is a great way to stay fit while beautifying your space and growing your own food. You might want to leave some open space for other activities: lawn games like croquet, badminton and ring toss are great fun for the whole family. Afterwards, you can throw some burgers on the BBQ to feed hungry bellies, then cozy up around an outdoor fire pit or fireplace. Actually, there’s really no need to go back inside at all. Just pitch a tent and blow up a few air mattresses for an overnight sleepover. 

As the days get hotter you might want to consider a weekend away to a water destination. Kayaks and paddle boards can navigate lakes and rivers alike, just remember to pack enough life jackets for everyone. Bring water toys and beach games for the kids, and a few fishing rods to catch and cook dinner at the end of the day. If you’re camping out, make sure you’ve got all the camping equipment you need before leaving home. That includes sleeping bags, coolers, drink jugs and a reliable camp stove.
